1. Herbal Remedies for Chest Congestion
Uses: Flu, Chest Colds, Congestion, Chest Congestion
Comments: 1/2 cup Boneset
1/2 cup Peppermint
2 quarts water
Bring the water to a boil. Pour the water and herbs into an enamel pot or a glass bowl. Drape a towel over the head and hang the head and face over the vessel, creating a tent with the towel. Inhale the vapors for up to 20 minutes. Then dry the face and neck.
Peppermint tea can be consumed following the steam as a nice addition to the treatment.
2. Herbal Remedies for Cough Ease Lozenges
Uses: Cough, Colds, Throat Dryness
Comments: 1/4 oz. powdered Elecampane
1/4 oz. crushed Mullein leaves
1/8 oz. powdered Osha root
1/8 oz. crushed Hibiscus flowers
1/16 oz. Anise seed
1/16 oz Cinnamon chips
1/2 gallon distilled water
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup Vegetable glycerin
Combine all the herbs and the water in a large enamel saucepan with a lid. Bring it to a boil covered, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain off the herbs, clean the saucepan thoroughly, then pour the tea back into the pan. Bring the tea to a simmer with the lid off and cook until the mixture is half of its original volume. Add the honey and glycerine and stir well. Using a candy thermometer to measure the temperature, bring the syrup to the hard ball stage. Drop the mixture by the spoonful onto a lightly oiled 9 x 13 glass pan, forming lozenge shaped candies. Let them set and cool, then store in an airtight container.
3. Herbal Remedies for Mucus
Uses: Mucus, Congestion
Comments: 1 tsp. Dang Shen
1 tsp. Grindelia
1 tsp. Osha
1 tsp. Thyme
1/2 tsp. Coltsfoot
1/2 tsp. Anise seed
1 quart distilled water
2 Tbsp. honey
2 Tbsp. glycerin
Stir the herbs into the quart of water in an enamel saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes, with the lid on. Strain the herbs and pour the liquid tea back into the rinsed and cleaned saucepan. Bring back to a simmer with the lid off and allow it to cook until the liquid is reduced to half its original volume. Add the honey and glycerin. Mix well and store in a glass bottle.
4. Herbal Remedies for Athlete’s Foot
Uses: Athlete’s Foot, Foot Soreness
Comments: 1/3 cup Thyme leaves
1/3 cup Cats Claw
1/4 cup Turmeric powder
1/4 oz. Grapefruit Seed extract
10 drops Lavender essential oil
2 quarts water
This can be prepared one of two ways:
Method One
Put the herbs and the water in a large pot, cover, and bring to a boil. Turn down the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and allow the water to cool to a warm temperature. Strain off the herbs and pour the water into a basin large enough to immerse feet. Soak the feet for up to 20 minutes, then towel dry.
Note: Any combination of the above herbs can be used.
Method Two
Prepare a tea out of 1 tsp. thyme leaves and 1 cup hot water. Allow the tea to infuse for 10 minutes then strain off the herb and sip on the tea. Makes a nice addition to the foot soak.
5. Herbal Remedies for Fungal Infection
Uses: Roundworms, Fungal Infection, Parasites, Athlete’s Foot, Ringworm
Comments: 3 tsp. Black Walnut tincture
2 tsp. Pau dArco tincture
2 tsp. Buckthorn tincture
2 tsp. Usnea tincture
2 tsp. Calendula tincture
1 tsp. Vegetable glycerin
Mix the ingredients together and store in a 1 oz. amber glass bottle. Take 1 dropperful 3 times daily in hot water.
Caution: Not to be used during pregnancy.
6. Herbal Remedies for Hay Fever
Uses: Hay Fever, Allergies
Comments: 2 tsp. powdered Goldenrod
2 tsp. powdered Eyebright
2 tsp. powdered Nettles
2 tsp. powdered Cats Claw
2 tsp. powdered Yerba Manza
1 tsp. powdered Turmeric
Mix the herbs together in a bowl. then take the mixture and fill size 00 gelatin capsules or vegi-caps (available at a health food store). Take 1-2 capsules 3 times a day before hay fever season begins and during if symptoms persist.
7. Herbal Remedies for Chest Colds
Uses: Hay Fever, Allergies, High Cholesterol, Sinus Congestion, Chest Colds, Congestion, Catarrh
Comments: 2 garlic heads, divided into cloves
1/2 cup of chopped fresh parsley
1 2-inch piece of ginger root, peeled and minced
1 pint of apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp. Honey, or to taste
Blend the garlic and the vinegar in a blender until the garlic is broken up. Transfer the mixture to a large wide-mouthed jar or container and add the ginger and parsley. Cover and allow to stand for 2 weeks. Strain the herbs and discard them. The vinegar can be sweetened to taste, if desired. Take up to 3 teaspoons daily.
8. Herbal Remedies for Yeast Infection
Uses: Kidney Infection, Mouth Infection, Yeast Infection, Illness, Eye Infection, Ear Infection, Chest Colds, Respiratory Infection, Viral Infections, Infection, Bacterial Infection, Allergies
Comments: 3 tsp. Echinacea tincture
3 tsp. Yerba Manza or Osha root tincture
3 tsp. Usnea Lichen tincture
2 tsp. Chamomile tincture
1/2 tsp. Turmeric powder,dried
1 pinch Cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp. Vegetable glycerin
Mix all of the ingredients together in a 1 oz. amber bottle and shake well to mix the tinctures and herbs together. Take 1 dropperful 3 times a day in a cup of hot water, or use as needed.

9. Herbal Remedies for Motion Sickness
Uses: Motion Sickness
Comments: 4 tsp. powdered Ginger
4 tsp. powdered Chamomile
4 tsp. powdered Peppermint , Spearmint , or Catnip
Mix the powdered herbs together well and fill size 00 gelatin capsules or vegi-caps (available at health food stores) with the blend. Take 2 capsules every 3 hours.
10. Herbal Remedies for Athletic Endurance
Uses: Athletic Endurance, Fatigue
Comments: 2 tsp. Amalaki
2 tsp. Siberian Ginseng root
1 tsp. Ho Shou Wu
1 tsp. Gingko
1 tsp. Gotu Kola
1 tsp. Licorice root
Sweetener
3 cups water
Mix the herbs together and steep in the 3 cups of hot water for 20 minutes. Drink 3- 4 cups throughout the day.
